Bursa Mevlevihanesi, located on Bayramyeri Street, opposite Pınarbaşı Cemetery, one of the oldest Muslim cemeteries of the city, in the Historical Hisar Region, is one of the great dervish lodges defined as âsitane. Built in 1615 by Cünûnî Ahmed Dede on the order of Sultan Ahmed I, the lodge in question has been the refuge of those who are with Hak, those who die in the way of friends, and those who are united in the way of Allah for four centuries. Since the 20th century, the Mevlevihane buildings, which were used for different functions such as a mosque, police station, military warehouse and finally a water reservoir, were destroyed in time due to neglect and desolation. The Mevlevihane area and buildings, which were handled and rebuilt within the scope of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipalitys Historical Cultural Heritage Protection and Preservation Works, started to serve as Bursa Mevlevihane and Museum in 2023.
